K9 NOSE Courses 

Below is an overview of our modules related to Scent Detection that we currently give.   

The modules in the HANDLER section should be considered building blocks of basic skills needed as a K9 Detection Handler (K9DH). These skills include: 

1. Motivation, Rewarding and Indication Training (Module K9DH-1), 6 contactdays
2. Systematic Search Basic Skills (Module K9DH-2), 6 contactdays
3. Systematic Search Advanced Skills (Module K9DH-3), 6 contactdays
4. Scent Imprinting & Transferring Skills (Module K9DH-4), 6 contactdays
5. Scenario Based Practical Exam (Module K9DH-5), 1 contactday

Module K9DH1 - K9DH5 together form the building blocks for our K9 Detection Handler Course. In the modules above, the following is included:

• Highly experienced, knowledgeable, committed, and passionate lecturers
  
• Coffee/Tea
• Course material
• 4 - 8 hour contactday (depending on number of participants)
• Online Coaching
• Certificate of participation per module 

The modules in the INSTRUCTOR section include the skills needed as a K9 Detection Instructor and follow up on the K9 Detection Handler Course. These skills include:

1. Theory behind K9 Scent Detection, including (theoretical) exam (K9DI-1)
2.  Psychology & Didactics, including (practical) exam (K9DI-2)
3. Being an Assessor (K9DI-3)

Module K9DI-1 - K9DI-3 on top of modules K9DH-1 - K9DH-4 together form the fundament of our K9 Detection Instructor Course, especially focussed on K9 Detection Sport.

 We give combinations of courses, seminars or lectures at our facility or on other locations upon request. 

We also offer correspondence (online) courses to those who wish to learn the theory & practice without traveling away from home, yet are dedicated to learning the art and craft of (scent) dog training. These courses are not a substitute for the practical experience gained through our hands-on modules, though they are designed to be as thorough as possible.
